progress // #hopewriterlife
day 12 // progress ✨
I started the year with a heart towards writing more so than I ever have.
There are big goals & lofty dreams for 2019 wiggling around in my head.
Things like
querying
agents
novel number 2
writing retreats
blogging
novel number 3
I’m a dreamer, remember?
But I’m also preaching to myself that it’s progress over perfection & little by little things will grow (thanks Lara Casey!)
So for sure I’m querying this novel, but I know I might not land an agent.
I’m going on retreats, but they might end up being me, holed up in a coffee shop four blocks away while I connect virtually with my writing partners.
Novel 2 might come with just a plot arc while number 3 might be a notebook full of research (historical settings do that...)
But those little bits of story here & there are progress at being a writer.
A part of my soul that’s finally, fully waking up.
So I’m reminding myself that the best progress I can make this is year is to
j u s t w r i t e
wildly. hopefully. whimsically. fully.
through the good + bad.
in the joy + hard.
Because that’s what a writer does.
They write.
