day 8 // quote ✨

Doctor: “What d’you think? You could stay here, fill your life with work and food and sleep or you could go...anywhere.”
Rose: “Is it always this dangerous?”
Doctor: “Yeah.”

It’s no secret that I’m a Whovian, & just this weekend I started rewatching the series from the 2005 reboot.
It just felt like it was time.

A few episodes in & I’m furiously scribbling down quotes from the Doctor because so many things he says—so many things that he fights for—are the same things I fight for in my writing.

After all, I COULD stay here, in a space of my daily routine & day job & just look at writing as the work I’m filling my life with.
Or
I could look at writing as the adventure I’m chasing.

It might be dangerous because it opens up my imagination to new worlds that I might never want to come back from.
It might be dangerous because the journey takes too long, with too many obstacles & rejections.
It might be dangerous because sometimes it’s lonely.
It might be dangerous because it might just change my life.

But that’s the risk with that comes with writing: not knowing what’s on the other side & still saying yes.

Writing is the anywhere I’m choosing.
How about you?
