Episode 1: Introductions and Powerful Stories

Hi and welcome to The Power of Story, a podcast for readers, teachers, parents, and anyone who wants to get lost in middle grade and young adult stories. I’m Caitlin Lore, aka MsLReads, the founder and host of this cast, a junior high English teacher, complete booknerd, and proud fangirl.

This is episode #1 and we’re starting things off talking about the power of story, my top three books that are stories about stories, and some info about myself and future podcasts.

Main Topic

I’ve started The Power of Story pod because really, I’m just a book nerd at heart. There’s something about curling up with a good book and getting lost in story that just makes my reader heart happy.

My Manifesto:

I believe in the power of story.
Stories have the power to heal. Stories have the power to change us.
Stories make us laugh, cry, yearn, and offer us escape.
Stories find us when we need them the most.
We all have stories in and around us. It's just up to us to live them.

I’d love to know your thoughts on The Power of Story and how it has shaped you as a reader! Email me at hello@caitlinlore.com or connect with me on Twitter or Instagram at the handle @MsLReads.

Iron Hearted Violet is not your average fairy tale and I'm recommending it to anyone who loves to steep his/herself into another world, get lost in fantasy, or wants a slightly different take on a traditional princess story.
